Only the two specimens collected in 1903 were mentioned in the original description by Goeldi (1905) and can be regarded as syntypes; however, which of the 6 total specimens (now at FMNH and MHNG) were collected in 1903 remains unknown (Muriel-Cunha & de Pinna, 2005).
